Interclub Dogolympics and Burns Dog Day Out 2011
The Tailwagger Dog Display Team will be taking part in the Interclub Dogolympic Challenge on 17th September 2011 held at Pembrey Country Park, Llanelli, Camarthanshire, Wales.
There are 7 Dogolympic Challenges:
Musical Dog Chairs
Slowest Recall
Ragger Retrieval
Tidy Up
Relay Race Through Toys
Wuf Challenge
Kong Retrieval
This year four teams will be competing, two are from The Tailwagger Club Dog Display Team and two are from Lynne Davies Dog Training. Lynne was a trainer on the BBC’s Dog Borstal.
Each team is made up of six dogs and each dog in the team has a go at every Challenge. The Challenges are played in rounds leading up to a final and usually start with a dog from every team in each round. Rather like It’s a Knock Out a team is allowed to play a Joker for one of the Challenges but nobody knows which one until the start of that Challenge.
Last year we returned home with the trophy! The team have been training hard so fingers crossed they retain their title!
Plan’s are afoot for next years event introducing more Challenges and also introducing it here in Yorkshire. We also plan to start a competition for individuals.
The following day, 18th September 2011, we will be part of Burns Dog Day Out 2011 also held at Pembrey Country Park. You can get more information about the event on Burns website.
It’s such a great event for both you and your dog, come along and join in with the fun.
